ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS

Cycle Route 102 km

Starting at the Huguenot Primary school, riders will be taken through Wellington and onto the Old Herman
Road where they will turn right onto the R44 at the Old leather factory towards Hermon. After turning off the
R44 onto the R46 the route will pass Hermon and Riebeeck Kasteel to climb over Bothmanskloof Pass
followed by a long downhill to meet the R45 where they will turn left towards Paarl. The route turns right
onto Slent(Voorpaardeberg) road to meet Vryguns where it turns left towards Windmeul on the R44. A left
turn onto the R44 takes riders back to Wellington, passing through the new traffic lights at the R44 / R45
interchange. After crossing the Berg river riders will continue on Champagne Street to the Cemetery before
turning left onto Piet Retief, where they will after 600m cross the finish line in Piet Retief. A neutral zone
takes the riders back to the start area at the Primary School where Coke, medals and refreshments are
available.

Cycle Route 52 km

The Short route will follow the long route to the R44, where it splits and turns left at the Old Leather Factory,
crossing over the Wellington Main road traffic lights and turns right at second set of traffic lights onto the
Lady Loch road. After crossing the Lady Loch Bridge riders turn right towards the R45. At the R45, a right turn
will take riders out towards Malmesbury. The short route will meet and merge with the long route at
Slent(Voorpaardeberg) road where they will turn left, thereafter following the same route as the 102km
route via Vryguns and Windmeul and back to Wellington, finishing in Piet Retief. A neutral zone takes the
riders back to the start area at the Primary School where Coke, medals and refreshments are available.

ENTRIES ( online & late ) & REGISTRATION

CTCTT has been contracted to handle all entries and seeding the entrants for the event.

The minimum age limits for
102 km is 16 years old  |  52 km is 12 years old
Tandems is 12 years if accompanied by an adult

CSA fee R50 (Cycling South Africa)

As per CSA Rule’s for 2025, you will be required to produce your valid CSA License of Provincial Affiliation at registration; or you will have to purchase an Event License. PPA members : If you are a paid up PPA member then the CSA event license charge is not applicable.

FinishTime Timing Board – R140

If you entered the Cape Town Cycle Tour in 2024, you will be able to use the board collected at that event.  DO NOT PURCHASE another board if you participated in the Cape Town Cycle Tour 2024 unless you have already lost that board. The timing boards will be usable at all FinishTime road events except where the event organiser requests disposable boards. Any road events after the Cape Town Cycle Tour that are timed by FinishTime is where you will be able to purchase one.
